Your members train hard.

Do they recover properly?

A monthly guided breathwork session for your community. Evidence-based, professionally delivered, and built around the way athletes actually recover.

Most of us only take recovery seriously when something breaks

We have coaches for squats, swim stroke, running economy. Programming for volume, intensity, and periodisation. But recovery? That only gets attention when there's an injury forcing it and by then, the body has already been running on a deficit for longer than anyone wants to admit.

Recovery isn't what happens between injuries. It's what prevents them. The athletes who understand that are the ones still training at full capacity years after the ones who didn't have been forced to stop.

Most people don't have anything deliberate for the nervous system carrying all of that training load. The result is a membership base that trains consistently, recovers inconsistently, and eventually hits a wall they can't explain. Tighter than they should be, sleeping worse than they expect to, and performing below what their training load should be producing.

This is where Opna comes in.

Not a yoga class.

Not meditation.

A clinical reset.

WHAT IT IS

Opna Community Breathwork is a monthly group session led on-site at your gym. It gives your members something the training culture rarely allows: permission to stop. Not because they've earned it, but because the body requires it and the performance that follows is the proof.

Each session runs 45 to 60 minutes. Members lie down. They breathe through a structured, guided protocol that directly activates the parasympathetic nervous system (the body's rest and recovery state). They leave different to how they walked in.

"I never really believed in breathwork until I did a session with Danny, and it really sort of gave me the opportunity to get a sense of stillness in my chaotic lifestyle and got the opportunity to just relax."
Jay Clark - Athlete/coach/business owner

THE SCIENCE

Athletes talk about training load constantly. Almost none of them talk about the autonomic nervous system carrying it.

Under sustained training and life stress, the body runs in sympathetic dominance which is the state that prioritises output and threat response over repair and adaptation. Cortisol stays elevated. Heart rate variability (HRV) drops. Sleep becomes less restorative even when the hours are there.

Performance plateaus without an obvious reason.

Structured breathwork directly addresses the mechanism, not the symptom. Slow, guided breathing lowers cortisol, increases HRV and shifts the nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance. The state where adaptation, repair and genuine recovery actually happen.

For athletes specifically, the parasympathetic system continues activating for up to 72 hours after intense training. A monthly breathwork session doesn't replace that window, it trains the nervous system to use it more efficiently, which means better adaptation from the same training load.

What gyms ask before they say yes

Will our members actually turn up?

That's why we offer the first session as a stand alone. No on-going commitment. See how the members respond. Most walk in curious and sceptical. Most walk out asking when the next one is. The session earns it's place or it doesn't continue.

Is this just meditation re-branded?

No. Breathwork is an active, guided technique with a measurable physiological effect. It's not passive. Members who attend regularly describe it as one of the more physically demanding things they do. The difference is the demand is internal rather than external.

What space do we need?

Enough floor space for members to lie down comfortably. A studio, a stretching area, or any open space in the gym works. No equipment needed beyond what your members already have access to.

What the minimum number of members for a session?

Minimum 5 participates each session.

What happens after the first session?

You decide. If your members respond well, we agree on a recurring monthly date and the program continues at $30pp. No lock-in, no contract. It earns its place each month or it doesn't continue.
